Makalu Base Camp


Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485 metres(27,838 ft). It is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas (19 km) southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and Tibet Autonomous Region, China. One of the eight-thousanders, Makalu is an isolated peak whose shape is a four-sided pyramid.

The Makalu Base Camp trek is an ideal trek for those who want to experience a variety of diversity and see the hypnotizing view of the mountains as well as steep granite cliffs, glaciers,waterfalls.

From Makalu Base Camp,you can see the mesmerizing view of Kangshung face of Everest, as well as Lhotse, Chamlang, and Kanchenjunga.

Day 01:Arrival/Pick up from airport to hotel.

Day 02:Official formalities.

Day 03:Fly Kathmandu to Tumlingtar-410m

Day 04:Trek Tumlingtar to Bhotebas-1960m

Day 05:Trek Bhotebas to Num-1500m

Day 06:Trek Num to Tashigaoun-3410m

Day 07:Trek Tashigaoun to Kauma-4170m

Day 08:Trek Kauma  to Mumbuk-3810m

Day 09:Trek Mumbuk to Nebe Kharka-4100m

Day 10:Trek Nebe Kharka to Makalu Base Camp -4320m

Day 12:Trek Makalu Base Camp to Nebe Kharka

Day 13:Trek Nebe Kharka to Mumbuk

Day 14:Trek Mumbuk to Tashigaoun

Day 15:Trek Tashigaoun to Num

Day 16:Trek Num to Chichila

Day 17:Trek Chichila to Tumlingtar

Day 18:Fly back to Kathmandu.
